Process

Three steps.

01

Understand

Agree the task, baseline, source systems and delivery boundary.

02

Build

Develop and review the code, configuration and integrations in scope.

03

Verify

Test representative cases, compare with the baseline and hand over.

Problems we solve

Recognise the challenge?

Start with the problem you see. Explore what we can change, then open the implementation notes for the detail.

01Accessible customer-journey remediation

What you may be seeing

  • Keyboard users cannot complete a purchase or booking.
  • Screen readers miss important buttons or form instructions.
  • Focus disappears when a modal or menu opens.
  • Errors and confirmation messages are not announced.
  • The page becomes unusable when text is enlarged.
What we build or change

We identify barriers in important customer journeys and repair the design and code behind them.

Implementation & verification

We test the actual customer journey with keyboard, screen reader and relevant display settings to identify blocking interactions. We change the interface code to correct semantics, focus behavior, labels, status announcements and responsive presentation. We verify custom controls and third-party steps together so accessibility does not stop at the page boundary. We combine automated checks with manual task testing and document remaining limitations rather than treating a scanner pass as complete conformance.

How we verify the work

  1. Start with essential browse, checkout, booking and enquiry tasks, including errors.
  2. Fix native semantics before adding ARIA and validate focus through dynamic steps.
  3. Test zoom/reflow, keyboard, screen-reader output and embedded/provider interactions.
  4. Accept on completing the agreed tasks and resolved verified barriers, with explicit residual issues.

Tools considered for this work

Delivery: frontend/component development + automated/manual accessibility testing. Automation: axe-core through Playwright or Accessibility Insights. Manual: NVDA on Windows, VoiceOver on Apple devices and keyboard-only tasks. Reference: WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.2 and W3C WAI form/control guidance. Code: semantic HTML, correct ARIA where needed and application focus management.

02Arabic/Japanese interface engineering retrofit

What you may be seeing

  • Arabic text breaks our left-to-right layouts.
  • Japanese labels overlap or are truncated.
  • Names and addresses cannot be entered correctly.
  • Mixed-language numbers and product codes display confusingly.
  • The translated website still feels difficult to use.
What we build or change

We adapt layouts and interactions for the languages and writing directions your audience uses, including realistic content testing.

Implementation & verification

We repair layout and input behavior for the supported Arabic and Japanese customer journeys. We code direction-aware layouts, resilient text wrapping, suitable font handling and locale-sensitive input/formatting behavior. We isolate mixed-direction identifiers where needed and keep validation compatible with actual local names and addresses. We validate with native-language task review and representative content rather than relying only on translated strings.

How we verify the work

  1. Test actual scripts, long labels, mixed codes and local input patterns in essential tasks.
  2. Replace fixed left/right assumptions with logical layout rules and intentional bidi isolation.
  3. Check validation, formatting and typography together with language reviewers.
  4. Measure task completion and locale-specific layout/input defects rather than translation coverage alone.

Tools considered for this work

Delivery: frontend/i18n development + localization QA. Layout: CSS logical properties, HTML dir and bidi handling. Formatting: browser Intl APIs (controlled connections between applications) or the application's existing localization library. Design/content: Figma with representative Arabic/Japanese text and approved fonts. QA: Playwright locale fixtures plus native-language review on target devices.

03Accessible reusable-component overhaul

What you may be seeing

  • The same inaccessible control appears throughout our app.
  • Teams fix buttons differently on different screens.
  • An interface update keeps reintroducing old accessibility bugs.
  • Custom dropdowns and dialogs do not work with assistive technology.
  • We cannot scale accessible design across new features.
What we build or change

We build reusable interface components with documented behaviour and accessibility checks, so future changes remain consistent.

Implementation & verification

We repair the shared components responsible for repeated barriers rather than patching every screen independently. We code consistent semantic, keyboard and focus behavior into the component library and migrate consuming screens carefully. We document supported patterns and add interaction/accessibility checks for representative component states. We validate the updated components in real journeys because component-level correctness alone does not prove the assembled experience works.

How we verify the work

  1. Find high-reuse primitives and map their consumers before changing behavior.
  2. Correct labels, keyboard patterns, disabled/error states and focus ownership centrally.
  3. Migrate incrementally and test the components in their actual form/navigation contexts.
  4. Measure verified barrier reduction, regression incidence and adoption of corrected components.

Tools considered for this work

Delivery: component-library/frontend development + design-system tooling. Documentation/testing: Storybook component states and interaction tests. Automation: axe-core/Playwright with regression fixtures. Manual: keyboard and NVDA/VoiceOver component/journey checks. Design: Figma shared component library aligned with coded behavior.

AI & automation in the work

Build consistency into delivery.

Reusable coded components turn interface rules into working behaviour. Automated checks cover important interaction and accessibility cases, with manual review for the experience those checks cannot judge.

Engineering terms, explained
Grounded AI / RAG
An assistant retrieves relevant approved evidence before generating an answer. Access controls and evaluations still need to be engineered and tested.
Idempotency
Retrying the same operation does not create an extra order, payment or record.
Controlled experiment
A concurrent comparison of assigned variants, with a defined outcome, observation window and decision rule.
Core Web Vitals
Measures of main-content loading, responsiveness to interaction and visual stability.

FAQ

Quick answers.

Do you deliver designs or working software?

Both can be included. We can research and prototype, then implement the approved interfaces in your application with your engineering team. The proposal specifies the delivery boundary.

Will you redesign the whole product?

Only if the evidence supports it. We can improve one important journey and extend reusable patterns from there.

Do you work beyond ecommerce?

Yes. This work applies to software products, customer portals, service businesses, booking systems, internal tools and digital commerce.
